Dracaena fragrans

It is native to Guinea, but has spread to other tropical and subtropical areas. It is an arborescent plant that can reach 6 m. in height. It has a simple stem, green leaves 30 to 85 cm. long with longitudinal yellow spots in the center. Flowers are yellow and aromatic, and its fruits are red-orange berries. Propagation occurs by seed and stem cuttings in well-drained soil. The exuberance of the foliage directly reflects the richness of the soil.
