Yellow walking iris

Trimezia martinicensis Jacq.

It is an herbaceous plant native to South America, which can grow up to 90 cm. tall. Its blade is thin and flat, 30 cm. long. The flower does not last for very long, and is comprised of three yellow petals, each curved inward. Propagation occurs by seeds. It requires bright places without direct sun exposure, and prefers environments with humid soils, less than 1500 meters above sea level and moderate irrigation.

Applications:

It is a medicinal plant, used as a home remedy for chills. It also has laxative or purging properties.
